Summary:

In 2019 at the QCWare Q2B conference, Phillip Gerbert, Senior Partner and Managing Director at BCG, and Matt Langione, Project Leader at BCG presented their estimation of the business market for quantum computers over the next 20 years. This assumes that it will take 20 years to reach large scale error corrected quantum computers. BCG believes the business market for quantum solutions would be up to about $850 billion. Nextbigfuture notes that if Honeywell or other companies were able to more rapidly develop large scale error corrected quantum computers then the value of quantum solutions could be reached sooner. Honeywell The post 0 Billion Potential of Error Corrected Quantum Computers first appeared on NextBigFuture.com.

Honeywell appears on track to achieve large scale error corrected quantum computers in about 10 years.

There are four main problem categories where quantum systems have an advantage over classical. Those are combinatorial optimization, differential equations, linear algebra and factorization.

The main markets are drug discovery, new materials, optimization, simulations, finance and AI.
